You Meet People For A Reason

Marc Chabrier ©

I believe that you meet people for a reason. It’s never an accident. People come and go from our lives and we may never know why. The Universe, God, or whatever has some predestined reason for the connections along the way.

Looking back I have met many people through the years some friends have stuck around for a bit and then others disappeared after even a few months. Makes you wonder why these things happen, doesn’t it? What’s the meaning of it all?

Many years ago I met this really super cool guy and we hit it off immediately. We worked for the Honda Motor Corp together. We were like two little kids everywhere we went. When people saw us without the other they always asked where the other one was.

We worked well as a team and shared many of the same interests, so everything was pretty seamless. Constantly one-upping the other along the way. Interestingly there seemed to be a back story of his and I never truly figured out what it was. One day he said he was moving to Houston, Texas. I was devastated, and just like that he was gone.

I myself have moved around a lot and have never really put down roots in one area, so I don’t give relationships a chance to grow. Friendships for me have always been hit or miss and never really for too long. We meet people for a reason and we should take it for what it is, a learning tool. No, that doesn’t mean to stop having relationships, it just means that we should take the goodness away from it.

Sometimes there isn’t goodness and it’s too toxic to be around these people, be it friendships, love interests, and so on. I believe there is always something we can take from it. Those bad relationships can always end up opening your heart to the right one and all of a sudden the magic happens! That’s what happened to me, but 7yrs or more went by.

Also, I believe that there’s always a reason for meeting random people out in the world. Someone just in passing with a quick conversation. Aren’t those cool? Like when you chat with someone on a bus or subway and chat in route to your destination.

Every encounter can teach us something, but it’s up to us to unravel the information. Take the time to ponder the possibilities of the encounter. Maybe, that person says something crazy about a bus they were just on and you’re thinking what the heck? You then decide to take a cab for the next part of your trip, and then you discover that the bus you were supposed to be on crashed off a bridge, and all died.

Dang, that’s pretty graphic, huh?! Just wanted to get you to think a bit! Please do take public transportation, it is still pretty safe. This was not a message to never take a bus. Some of you guys take things way too literally. Ha.

Anyway, rounding back to my original story about the guy I was friends with briefly. I think that I met him in that time period for him to lift my spirits from my situation at the time. It was during a move to a new area and didn’t know anyone. I feel like he may have been a part of the Witness Relocation Program because he told me about some bad people he dealt with in Vietnam.

Conclusion

Who knows, but years later I have discovered that there are no chance encounters. We do truly meet people for a reason. Even if you don’t believe in the whole Universe thing or God or whatever, there is always a takeaway from things if you open up your mind to it. I promise you that you will grow more as an individual if you do! Your money-back guarantee!

Very good 👍😊. I met my friend Kathy through LinkedIn in 2016. She runs www.seethegood.info which is an inspirational/motivation site. She gave me my first shot as a writer and has helped me down the path to the inspirational/motivation genre.
